Assassin's Creed
- What it is
- An action-adventure series about two secret groups, the Assassins and the Templars, fighting over power through real moments in history.
- The story
- Each game drops you into a different historical era through the "Animus", a machine that lets present-day characters relive their ancestors' memories.
- How connected are the games?
- Loosely. Most historical stories stand alone, but a present-day storyline links them. The Ezio trilogy and the Kenway games are tightly connected.
- How many do I need to play?
- For the core story on Switch: the Ezio Collection (3 games), then the Kenway saga (Black Flag, Rogue, III). Shadows is a separate, newer adventure on Switch 2.
Play order
The Switch games only: Ezio's full arc first, then the Kenway family saga in story order, then Shadows.
