Final Fantasy
Every number is a new world. Start anywhere — except where a game says "Part 2".
Final Fantasy
- What it is
- A long-running role-playing series; nearly every numbered game is a brand-new world and cast.
- The story
- Usually a group of heroes against an empire or an ancient evil, often with crystals, airships and summoned monsters.
- How connected are the games?
- Mostly no. Exceptions: X-2 continues X; Crisis Core, Remake and Rebirth belong to the Final Fantasy VII story; XII and Tactics share the world of Ivalice.
- How many do I need to play?
- One. Pick an entry that appeals to you.
